WAYS OF VERSE 2022
The Deepankar Khiwani Memorial Prize was instituted by The Quarantine Train in 2020 to promote Anglophone poetry in India and to honour the memory of beloved poet, Deepankar Khiwani. TQT is hosting a two-day poetry festival, WAYS OF VERSE, to commemorate the Prize.
On May 6, 2022, we have scheduled an evening with filmmaker and singer Shabnam Virmani to celebrate mystical poetry. On May 7, 2022, Martín Espada will deliver the Deepankar Khiwani Memorial Oration, followed by the DKM Prize Ceremony. Join us for a celebration of poetry.

Pondering the power of a mystic poem with Shabnam Virmani
Moderated by Prashant Parvataneni, Allied Arts Coordinator, The Quarantine Train
Shabnam Virmani, filmmaker and singer, will share songs and reflections from her journeys into oral traditions of Bhakti and Sufi songs. She will reflect on the power of mystic poetry to touch the lives of a multitude of singers, listeners, and seekers over centuries.
